As part of the Fire Prevention Month 2014 activity, personnel of Bacarra Fire Station, Ilocos Norte conducted First Aid Training at Bacarra National Comprehensive High School last March 2014
As part of the observance of the National Consciousness Month, last July, the Liga ng mga Barangay officials headed by the puno ng Barangay of the 43 barangays and Bacarra Central Elementary School invited the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacarra to conduct an orientation on fire/earthquake safety and preparedness in their premises.
BFP Bacarra headed by the OIC MFM, SFO2 Villamor M Domingo, hence conducted the orientation last 16 & 17 July 2013.
The said information and education campaign were conducted members of the Liga ng mga Barangay and Central Elementary School as part of the awareness drive of frontline agencies and reaching out to the youth who are vulnerable during disasters.
Fire Marshal Domingo said, “Teaching the young ones on disaster preparedness and increasing their capabilities to respond to disaster is a sound principle that could greatly affect how they face emergencies or disasters in the community. It may redound to the benefit of increasing their family’s awareness in times of emergencies.

The observance of the Lenten Season is a yearly as a part of remembering our love ones who passed away. Filipino families go back to their home provinces to honor their deadly departed, and at the same time a reunion with those who are still living. This belief has become part of our Christian culture and Filipino tradition.
BFP Bacarra, in the leadership of SFO2 Villamor M Domingo ensures that the OPLAN KALULUWA contingency plan was properly implemented by roving across the area of responsibility. They also established “Public Assistance Hub” in front of the Fire Station and within the vicinity of Bacarra Municipal Cemetery. Fire prevention and safety leaflets were also given to the people for safety awareness and prevention campaign. BFP-Bacarra personnel also conducted inspection at mortuary chapels/ funerals homes within AOR. Likewise, the proper operation of the fire extinguisher was imparted to owners/ caretakers of the establishments.

The BFP, through its campaign ‘OplanPaalala,’ and ‘OplanIwas Paputok,’ is encouraging the public to be extra careful in setting off fire crackers. The Bureau of Fire Protection Bacarra Personnel headed by the OIC/ Municipal Fire Marshal SFO2 Villamor Domingo conducted Fire safety Inspection in different establishments within the area of responsibility as a support for the activity. The Bureau made this inspection to make sure that the establishments abide by the rule of the Fire Code of the Philippines and to protect the public from fire related incidents.
According to SFO2 Domingo, “Homeowners are advised to shut their doors and windows during the New Year revelries to keep out stray firecrackers. It is also advisable to have electricians regularly check on a house’s electrical wiring. Poorly maintained LPG tanks are also potential triggers of fires. In case of fire, the public should immediately notify the nearest fire station. Also, people in the neighborhood should try to put out the fire while waiting for the fire trucks to arrive.”
Likewise, the Municipal Fire Marshal and Fire Safety Inspector of Bacarra Fire Station conducted fire safety inspection to all establishments selling Pyrotechnics.

In celebration of the Fire Prevention Month 2013 which started on March 01, the Bureau of Fire Protection – Bacarra Fire Station conducted a series of lectures and drills on fire safety and prevention to the townsfolk of Bacarra, IlocosNorte. This is in consonance with the Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A which declares the month of March as Fire Prevention Month. In this year’s celebration, the BFP – Bacarra was joined by the Liga ng Mga Barangay of the Municipality of Bacarra. This joint effort called “Sagut ti Gobyerno” was spearheaded by Hon. Nicomedes C. Dela Cruz, Municipal Mayor, and SFO2 Villamor M. Domingo, OIC Municipal Marshal, to educate the populace of the town’s forty three (43) barangays.
SFO2 Villamor M. Domingo together with SFO2 Dominador B. Ignacio, FO1 Mark Anthony G. Ponce, and FO1 Januario Jaemie R. Buted were convened at an LMB meeting which was attended by all Punong Barangays and Sangguniang Bayan Members directed by Hon. Mayor Dela Cruz. The meeting was about the implementation of the “Sagut ti Gobyerno” program which aims to bring awareness on fire prevention and fire safety measures in all the 43 barangays of Bacarra. In this program, BFP personnel reached and worked with all the Barangay Councils of Bacarra. BFP personnel in this community reach-out educational program, discussed fire prevention and fire safety measures to be observed.
The BFP personnel also urged the public to remain vigilant and be supportive to the programs of the BFP in promoting public safety in this celebration of the Fire Prevention Month and throughout the year. The BFP – Bacarra personnel, to reinforce their campaign, distributed Fire Safety and Prevention leaflets to the residents of all the barangays. The LMB officials, with their respective Barangay Council’s members, were very cooperative in the implementation of the said program.
The “Sagut ti Gobyerno” program was launched in Brgy. 18 Sto. Cristo II, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. The said program will last for three months because it purports to cover all the barangays of Bacarra. This joint comprehensive educational venture of the BFP and LMB started in March 2013 and will end in May of this year.
In line with this year’s celebration of Fire Prevention Month, BFP Bacarra launched its Kiddie/Junior Fire Marshall in two educational institutions – Riverdeep Academy and Parang Elementary School. BFP personnel conducted lectures and drills on fire safety and prevention to all the school teachers and pupils. After the lecture, the participants were asked to give a return demonstration wherein they applied what they have learned from the BFP resource speakers and personnel.
